Note MeI just got back from spending three incredible weeks travelling with my family through the United States of America. Everything is still so fresh and new that I can't really comprehend to be back in Germany again. To stave off returning to everyday life a bit longer (and to battle the jet lag) I started to go through some of the pictures I made.
It made me realize just how much work lies ahead of me: dividing the ones I made from the pics my brother took, removing the crap ones, choosing pictures for the fotobook we're planning to make (including finishing my travel diary) - and last but not least choosing the best pictures for posting on dA.
This is just the first taste of what is to come:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our first station was Vancouver, Canada (we learned a few days later that there's another Vancouver down the west coast on US soil - for a moment we were sure our navigation system had already broken down after a couple of days

), where we met with friends from Germany. Unfortunatly it was one of the very few days with 'bad' weather. Which means not a good time for pictures because of the grey sky. The sun decided to come out only after we went inside the Vancouver Aquarium.

After a couple of days we drove down the west coast. First the Interstate 5 (where we learned to hate the traffic around big cities - Seattle, Tacoma, Portland - especially on weekends), then the Highway 101 and the last part before San Francisco on the Highway 1 directly along the coast.
I loved Oregon with its endless wooded hills. Fortunately we took our time there and made a few stops along the way. For example at the Oregon Dunes, the Crater Lake Nationalpark and at the Oregon Caves.

And then we crossed into California. One of the first things we drove through was a part of the Redwood Nationalpark. I'm at a loss to describe these impressive trees. You have to stand there and see them for yourself, walk among them. None of the pictures could really capture what we experiences there.
... more to come later ...
